Rocketman

πŸΏπŸ†πŸŽΌ

Rocketman is a creatively built and surrealistic biopic that expertly weaves Elton John’s music into a bold narrative.

The Upside:

Although Rocketman contains most cliches of a standard biopic, it takes those familiar notes and presents them in a creative and surreal way. Taron Edgerton’s performance (and voice) is phenomenal, the music is creatively weaved into the story, and the visuals and emotion presented throughout make Rocketman a visceral watch for Rock and roll fans, and non rockers alike.

The Downside:

The first act is a bit clunky and some of Bryce Dallas Howard’s lines come off a bit stale, but these issues are very few and far between.

The Verdict:

All of the brilliant parts of Rocketman create an outstanding whole. A truly great film, and one of this year’s best.
